Stories to inspire and encourage you

A lot of new people have joined the Dreamsmith community since we kicked off the “Do What You Love” Telesymposium last week, and I wanted to write a special note to those of you who are brand new to Dreamsmith, as well as those who’ve been here since the very beginning:

I’m so glad you’re here!

Dreamsmith is a place where you’ll find ideas, inspiration, food for thought and motivation on your journey to creating and living a life that you love.  I typically write a blog post about once a week (usually on Thursdays), and I love to share the insights I’ve gathered from different life experiences, like life lessons I learned at the potter’s wheel, or how we can take care of our emotions the same way we take care of our lawns.  My intention is to deliver these free, fun and thought-provoking stories to inspire and encourage you on your way to crafting the life of your dreams.

The Ripple Effect

Each of our dreams is different, and every one of us unique in our experiences and the lens through which we see the world.  Yet regardless of our differences, we are all the same in a handful of universal ways: we all want to be loved, we all want to be happy, we all want to feel that we belong, and we all want to feel like we’ve made a difference in someone’s life.  When each one of us is doing things that make us feel those feel-good feelings, the positive ripple effect that spreads out into the world touches people and places that we can’t begin to imagine.  And that makes a better world for all of us.

Our speakers over the last couple of weeks have shared some beautiful insights on how each of us can tune into that ‘knowing’ about what we are meant to be doing, and how we can best share our gifts with the world.  We’ve also talked about the dangers we can encounter on the perilous journey of becoming a ‘someone’, and some ways to avoid those dangers.

I was also reminded of the art of detachment this week and about ‘going with the flow’ when Tuesday’s guest speaker couldn’t dial in to our conference line due to a technical glitch and we had to move swiftly to Plan B, which was a surprise ‘bonus interview’ about my story and how I came to be doing what I do here at Dreamsmith.  (Reality check: ‘bonus interview’ isn’t really a technically accurate term, since I didn’t actually let my assistant Claire get a word in edgewise to ask me any of the interview questions!  It’s more of a verbal bio of how I got here, sprinkled with a few bits of hindsight wisdom that I hope you’ll benefit from.  Geralyn was the first one to tell me how much she enjoyed it; maybe you will too!)

Sherri Bean’s rescheduled interview will be done not via live call, but recorded and posted online before the Telesymposium ends next Thursday.  This week’s interviews with Jenniffer Weigel and Juanita Koo (plus my ‘interview’) are now online and can be accessed for 48 hours by those registered for the Telesymposium when you log in to the Recordings page using your password, or downloaded from the Upgrade page for those who’ve purchased the listen-or-read-whenever-YOU-want-to-package.

Do What You Love Telesymposium

Speaking of which, there’s still time to take advantage of the discounted prices (in effect until June 28th) if you’d like to buy the mp3 collection or the mp3 PLUS transcripts package.  Don’t miss any of the interviews, and listen or read at your own convenience!

OK that’s enough of the sales talk.  After next week, I’ll be back to my usual schedule of just writing the free blog posts for you!  (Whew…sales was never my thing.)

Do hop online tonight or tomorrow if you can, to catch this week’s recordings before they expire…you’ll learn about trusting the process when you’re on a long road, keeping your eye out for where the roads converge, why intuition should be your guru, how your ego gets in the way (and what to do about it), how to take it in stride when life throws you a curveball, and how to know when you’re on the right track.

And if you ever feel like you’re swimming upstream and fighting the current on the way to doing what you love, consider going with the flow instead…and remember the wise words of Dory from the movie Finding Nemo

“Just keep swimming…just keep swimming…”

Are you swimming upstream this week, or going with the flow?
